Look at the structure below. It's called a hypercard, and it's described in Fractal Music, Hypercards and More... by Martin Gardner. Two different views are presented. Do you think it's possible to create such a structure out of cardboard or paper, simply by cutting with a scissors -- not by using glue or paste? Try doing it. Seems impossible, doesn't it? Well... 
It is possible! As quoted from Gardner's book: "Take a rectangular sheet of paper or cardboard and make three cuts along the black lines shown to the right. Now fold flap X up 90 degrees along the broken line ABC and then turn the lower portion Y over by folding it back 180 degrees along the broken line BC." (p. 124) Voila -- a hypercard to put on your desk.
