You take a bet to stay alone in a creepy old mansion for the night. Lying upstairs in the pre-dawn hours, you suddenly hear the big red door of the bedroom creak open. Standing at the foot of the bed is a pale, gaunt figure with hollow cheeks.
You stare at him, while the old room slowly grows less dim. "Hello," the gaunt stranger says, his narrow lips parting to reveal two sharp fangs. "May I have a drink?"
"To me, blood is like milk." The vampire moves, like a shadow, closer towards you. "There's whole milk, and there's skim milk. But it doesn't matter..." He chortles, wickedly. "You'll do fine, My Sweet."
"So, the wine is tainted," sneers the vampire, moving (like a shadow) closer towards you. "It doesn't matter. To me, all red corpuscles are the same." He chortles, wickedly. "You'll do fine, My Sweet."
You hold forth the cross, trembling, as the creature backs away. He veers to the side, and you rush out through the doorway of the room. The tiny cross slips from your fingers as you head towards the stairs. There's no time to retrieve it! The monster is now chasing after you.
"Ahh," says the vampire, "...It's true that I have no reflection. But that piece of glass can't hurt me." He knocks it out of your hand and grabs hold of your throat.
As the creature flings himself toward you, you jab out with the knife. The tiny blade bends in half against his powerful chest. The vampire is upon you!
As you fumble with the door's latch, a sudden tap is felt upon your shoulder. You turn and face him, your last hope finally gone. "Ahhh..." the creature gloats. "If you don't mind, I think I'll have that drink now..."
You tear open the sash, and the dawn's sun-rays stab in through the glass. The descending form is scorched by the sudden glare, burning in unholy heat!
